Not much going on around here farm wise....

We had family here for thanksgiving and enjoyed every minute of it.  My daughter-in-love came over and helped me clean and make sleeping space for 9...

I am spending most of my time quilting.  I am working on Bonnie Hunter's new mystery...  I have till Friday to get Step 2 complete before Step 3 arrives...

Also planning to work on another quilt for a family member...

Progress

It seems like forever since I posted here.  I have been busy making six quilts for a lady.  I deliver today..woohoo.

Then it is on to finishing up some more.

It sees like forever since our boy was here.  But he is coming for the weekend.  Yay!   I don't expect to get much quilting done.  But that is okay, these babies grow up way too fast.

Labor Day

I had the day off from work but I have been busy all day.  I completed the six quilt tops and a couple loads of laundry.  Now on to dishes...uuuggghhh I hate washing dishes.

My hubby told me the NASCAR race is tonight so I will get some much needed sewing in today after church.  It has been a busy last couple weeks trying to finish sewing projects, getting insurance claims gathered up.  Mailing those Tuesday.  Finally.  But I have a lot to get complete before vacation/reunion.  My sister and niece all be coming to visit and I have not seen them in two years.....  Postings maybe sparse.

Teeth are for eating not a tool to open things!!!!

Well August 9th is my dental apt.  I sure am dreading it.  Last September 5th, Labor Day, I was using my teeth to open a lemon packet for my tea.. And my front tooth broke.  Well after trips to three different dentist and lots of praying , it looks like I have to have a bridge on my front teeth.  I know almost a year later, but I had to wait for my dental insurance to start.

So prayers are appreciated.  This is at least a two month process, depends on how well I heal from having the tooth pulled.

Quilts

I made headway last night.  I have all the pieces cut and sewn into HST  and will spend tonight pressing them.  Ironing is not my favorite thing to do.  So this week I can get together with the lady I am making them for and we can design blocks the way she wants them.  Then the real sewing can begin.  I have a goal of having them completed by the end of August.  That will be 5 quilts in two months.   I think I can, I think I can......

Testing again

Being new to blogging there is a lot of trail and error.. I can not get photos to upload from iPad. And this time I want to see how the scheduling post goes.

I have cut and cut and cut all day. I only need 238 more cut and then sew sew sew. Maybe I can have this finished by Monday.

Pickle Patch Quilter Tuesday

Our grandson has come and gone. I kinda wanted that afternoon nap yesterday.lol. Ready to see him again. He left Moose Moose so I had to make a dash for the post office to get Moose on his way home. Hopefully it will not take long for him to arrive. And today is quilting day, well evening. Sure with that boat would float on my way so I could quilt and play with the grand instead of going to work. But until it does, I better get moving. Happy quilting.

What a wonderful time we are having with our grandson. I am not getting any quilting/sewing done but that's okay. I do miss sleeping in my bed as well. But it will be there for me soon.

Our grandson is coming to visit today!

We are very excited that our grandson is getting to spend the weekend with us. I can't wait for 4:30 to get here so I can go get him from his Nanny (great grandma). What have I been working on .... cutting up shirts and sewing them back, I have been hired to make 5 small quilts from dress shirts for a co-worker who lost her dad last year. Last weekend a friend and I went to a fellow Pickle Patch Quilter's home and got to play on her quilting machine. This could become a habit.... One Christmas gift down, well once I get it trimmed and the binding on. I must get ready for work, Have a blessed day and Happy sewing.. Angela

It's raining!!!! :)

It is finally raining. The electricity flashed a couple times but it is calming down now. At least my yorkies have stopped barking at the thunder. And it has cooled down from 107 to 79....yippee..... I hope everyone gets some of the rain, we sure needed it. Happy quilting, Angela

Quilt Retreat is almost here just one more day!!!!!! We are all so excited, just the fellowship with ladies we haven't seen since October. And of course learning new techniques. I'm so excited.....

Happy Valentine's Day

Well I have to tell ya this is one happy MiMi.. My daughter and the grand boys are here and it makes a heart glad. 

We finally had Christmas with our little guys and spent Sunday with Nanny, my mom, and Poppa Joe.  I got to spend some time with my son on the farm, he is a pretty awesome Uncle, and my daughter-in-love and I learned how to install a zipper in a makeup bag she made, gotta love sewing lessons.

Grandboys and Momma are coming!!!!!!!!

I received a call from my daughter and she and the babies, ages 2 and 4 years, are coming to visit.  This is one happy MiMi...... We will finially get to have Christmas with them.

I have completed one of the boys quilts and have the other I am about half way finished machine quilting.  Trimming and binding to do.

The cancer ribbon quilt is coming together.  We will have 24 blocks and set it 4 x 6.  We have a few to "fix" to get them them all the same size.  Yes 4 were mine to fix, I forgot to change my needle position before sewing on the borders.  So that too is on my list of things to complete this week.

Well the Bonnie Hunter Orca Bay Mystery is no longer a mystery, well maybe it is to me.  I have paper cut and some strips cut, patterns for quick sewing HST, but I still haven't really started.  I have to get busy on this just as soon as I finish my 5th Cancer Ribbon Block.

And to finish the grandsons quilts.  I think I am going to have to "shorten" those two.  Not liking the finish top size.  Maybe that is what I will do this week.  Have to make this priority!!!!!!!!
